Christmas Parade

Fort Cobb had a Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12th. I was on the parade committee and loved it! There was an awesome turn-out for the very 1st parade!

AC/DC

On November 4th, our family went to OKC to the AC/DC concert!! This was the boys first concert and they were super excited!! We had a little time to kill before the concert, so we walked to the bombing memorial. The boys had never seen it.

We had an awesome time!! In the words of Adam, "It rocked"!!

My mom's side of the family got together Labor Day weekend at the Wichita Mountains and had a picnic! It was a small turnout, but it's quality..not quantity!! :) We had a fun time and can't wait to do it again!

Traye and I celebrated our 1st anniversary on March 7th!! These are the flowers that my sweet husband gave me. I can't believe it has been a year already....time flies when you are having fun!! :)

This August, Traye and I are going to Def Leppard/Poison concert in Tulsa!! We are both super excited!! Too bad we have to wait until August 22.

Lent

Today is the first day of Lent. I had to try to think of something to give up for Lent this year. Last year, I gave up pop for the 40 days. At the beginning of this year, I gave up drinking any kind of pop. Why? I thought it would help with losing weight and my general "healthiness". So, what do I give up this year for Lent? I decided to give up laziness. Yep, you got it! Laziness! I am now "making" myself workout in some form or fashion for 30 minutes a day. (If you are reading this and wondering if I have done my 30 minutes today, the answer is yes).

Lent is a great time to give up something that you love or like a lot and reflect on God everytime you "crave" that something. When I want a pop, for example, that is the time I pray and reflect on what He has given me in my life. I challenge you all to "give up" something, if it's for Lent or not. It's worth it!

Basketball is over....on to Baseball!!

Fire Department Fundraiser

I haven't posted in a while, but wanted to share that the Ft. Cobb Fire Department is hosting a Chili Supper on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Fort Cobb Community Building on Main Street. It will be from 5-7:30 p.m. All of the chili will be prepared by the firefighters and desserts will be donated by the Our Way Quilt ladies and other clubs. Also, we are selling tickets for a quilt drawing we will have the same night! The quilt is patriotic, with flags and the constitution on the back. It was hand quilted by the Our Way Quilt ladies and donated to the fire department to use as a fundraiser. If you would like to buy chances for the quilt, they are 1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. We are always needing medical supplies, fire equipment, ect., so all donations are appreciated!!

We had the rest of Christmas at Traye's parents, my parents, Traye's aunt and uncle's house and finally my aunt and uncle's house....whew!! We all had a great Christmas and now looking forward to a new year. We wish everyone a happy and healthy 2009!! God Bless!!

We let the boys open a few of their presents early. They both have been really good and are going to be so many places, we thought we would let them start now! Stephen got a PSP and some games to go with it! He was really excited!! So much so, he actually smiled in a picture!! :)

Adam wrote Santa a letter and asked for "a great Christmas with my family and a Nintendo DS." That is exactly what he got!! He was super excited too!!

We had our YHO Christmas Party Thursday night and I had a great time! Mom and I are both in YHO so it makes it pretty fun! I forgot to get a group picture of us girls, but here are a couple of me...

I brought a Sonic giftcard because my rule is "bring something you want". I really didn't think anyone else would want one! I didn't get to keep it long!! We had lots of laughs and ate good food!!

The boys and I put up the Christmas tree today! We have tons of ornaments and tried to find a place to hang all of them! :) Dot loves it under the tree....we can't get her to lay anywhere else. We didn't manage to get anything else decorated and we definately didn't do any outside decorating (way too cold and windy)!! Maybe next weekend. I love this time of year!! :)

We aren't a "traditional" family, so while my husband slept (he was working nights) and the boys were away, I went to our Ratliff Thanksgiving at the lake! We always have great food and visits!

Fire Stuff

This is Traye in his firefighting get up. I have stuff that looks just like that....only way smaller!! :)

This picture was taken at a car fire I went on November 11, 2008. We received a call about a car that was in a ditch just south of Fort Cobb. There was just a driver; no passengers. Luckily the driver wasn't hurt!! This is just a small fire I've been on. I took this picture with my camera phone so it didn't turn out that great. I really enjoy being a volunteer firefighter/picture taker!! haha :)

Deet and Dot...yes, that is their names!

This is Deet/Deeter/Mr. Deeds. He is our Tom Cat. I was sitting in the livingroom one night and heard a rustle in the kitchen. I thought, "Oh Dear!! A mouse!! And I'm home alone!!" So, I tiptoe into the kitchen and there is Deet laying in the water case! He is always doing something hilarious!!

The picture on top is Baby Dot and Deet is on the bottom. They are brother and sister and were born the first part of June '07. In August '07, the big flood happened. That was around the time they were just weened and looked pretty scrawny. Actually, Traye and I thought they probably drowned, but no!! They were still alive!! So, we had our "babies". The Red Cross came to town to help out by helping tear out carpet, etc. out of people's homes, delivering meals, etc. Well, a Red Cross lady came by, saw our "scrawny cats" and took them off of our porch!! Traye saw her do it and followed her. She told him they were mistreated and would take care of them. To make a long story longer.....he got them back. How crazy is that?!?

Here are a few pictures from our wedding! We got married March 07, 2008! I've always wanted a small wedding and it couldn't have been much smaller!! My parents, James, Traye's parents, his grandmother and the boys were the only guests. Bro. Keith King married us and his wife, Aimee, took the pictures!! It was the best day ever!!

Stephen had spent the night with a friend on Friday night for a birthday party sleepover! So, when he got home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, he went to his bedroom and went to sleep. Around 6:00 p.m., Traye decided he needed to wake him up so he would be able to sleep at night. I was standing in the kitchen doing dishes and Stephen walks in. He looks at the clock, looks outside (of course, it's dark), and then looks at me. He said, "Becky, why did we have to get up so early?" I looked at him, then looked at Traye and we cracked up laughing!! Stephen thought it was 6:00 A.M.!!!! He didn't realize he had slept for only 4 hours!! I'm really loving these boys!!! :)

What is this Blog?

I started noticing...I'm getting left out. And, you know me, I don't like that!! So, I guess to "catch up" I needed a blogspot. However, I'm not much of a blogger, but am definately a talker!! :) This first blog won't be a long one. Just more of a way to say hello and that I'm here!! I do have pictures of my step-sons and my "babies" (our cats), but haven't really figured out how to put them on here just yet.
